Phoenix Flies 2024

Once again, The Patch Works is participating in the annual Phoenix Flies event, brought to y’all by the Atlanta Preservation Center! We will be offering four free tours: Saturdays, March 2, 9, 16, and 23. Each tour starts at 1:00pm and runs for approximately an hour and a half.

We keep our tours small, and tickets go fast, so please register ASAP on the APC’s Eventbrite site.

If all the Phoenix Flies tours are booked, please don’t hesitate to contact us at The Patch Works and ask about our regular tours.

In the words of the Atlanta Preservation Center:

A Preservation Celebration in Atlanta Presented Every March Since 2003

Atlanta’s historic built environment of buildings, landscapes and neighborhoods is an integral part of the city’s culture and identity. Phoenix Flies: A Celebration of Atlanta’s Historic Sites provides an opportunity to learn about, celebrate and strengthen Atlanta’s historic and cultural assets free of cost. This unique experience was created in 2003 by the Atlanta Preservation Center as a way to celebrate the anniversary of the powerful rescue of the Fox Theatre, an event that changed Atlanta’s respect for preservation permanently. Phoenix Flies 2023 was the 20th year that the APC brought together individuals and organizations from around the city and state to demonstrate the value of Atlanta’s historic built environment. This unparalleled event grew from 16 preservation partners and 40 events to an average of 100 partners offering over 200 events each year. Atlanta has something in this event that has no equal and we are grateful for our partners, members and guests for making each year surpass the last.
